A brief history of the Rosetta stone …

Back in 196 B.C., there was the stone and written with two languages (Egyptian and Greek), using three scripts (hieroglyphic, demotic and Greek) by a group of Egyptian priests and it lists all the good things that the pharaoh has done for the mankind. It was rediscovered in 1799 by a soldier, Pierre-Francois Bouchard, of the French expedition to Egypt who was rebuilding a fort at Rosetta, a harbour on the Mediterranean coast in Egypt. And the stone is called Rosetta after all. After the British defeated the French, it was handed to British Army who sent the Rosetta to the British Museum, where it’s been there since 1802.

Our intention is capturing the essence, beauty, lush, splendid and sublime of the Rosetta Stone in our Rosetta tent.
